Why Haiti?

Haiti is the western third of the Caribbean island of Hispaniola, which it shares with the Dominican Republic. As the world’s first successful slave revolt, Haiti has seen its share of turmoil, poverty, and political unrest. It also fell victim to a devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake in 2010 that took the lives of over 200,000 people. But like most countries, Haiti can’t be easily defined. Dubbed the “Pearl of the Antilles,” Haiti was also once a hot tourism destination, hosting visitors from all over the world, including Bill & Hillary Clinton who spent their honeymoon here in 1975.

At EIM Adventures, we invite you to join us and see for yourself. To take in the beauty and complexity that makes this country and its people so unique. Don’t come to “save” Haiti, nor to escape it, but simply come with an open mind and get ready for an incredible experience. It’s only a 4-hour direct flight from New York, so what are you waiting for?
